Singer Taylor Swift criticizes comedy "Ginny & Georgia" for satirizing her love life

In an episode of the first season of the Ginny & Georgia series aired in late February, the two main characters - schoolgirl Ginny Miller (Antonia Gentry) and mother Georgia (Brianne Howey) - argue about love affairs. Georgia believes that her daughter recently broke up with her boyfriend Hunter. Ginny argued: "Why do you care? You change men faster than Taylor Swift".

She also criticized Netflix, the publisher of Ginny & Georgia: "After the release of Miss Americana (the documentary about Taylor Swift), this is not lovely at all." According to CNN, publisher and producer Ginny & Georgia is not currently responding to Swift's statuses.

According to NME, many fans of Taylor Swift condemned the film to protect the idol. "I was going to watch Ginny & Georgia but changed my mind. After releasing the Reputation and Miss Americana tour documentary, is this crap still being released," Twitter user Love Yazy commented. "I quite liked Ginny & Georgia until they made a joke about Swift. In particular, the character who said that sentence is a feminist", user Kmt03010 commented.

Taylor Swift's private life has long been a topic of public and media attention and exploitation. Around the early 2010s, she continuously dated many male stars such as Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Conor Kennedy, Harry Styles... Relationships usually only last a few months, ending with a some songs Swift wrote about old love. After that, she was often used by many comedies as an example of women frequently replacing boyfriends.
