Justin Bieber won 2 important categories of the MTV VMAs 2021: Artist of the Year and Best Pop Song (Peaches). Previously, Justin Bieber led the list of nominations this year with 7 categories, followed by Megan Thee Stallion with 6 categories. Billie Eilish, BTS, Doja Cat, Drake, Giveon, Lil Nas X and Olivia Rodrigo each received 5 nominations.

Singer Olivia Rodrigo is only 18 years old but won 3 MTV VMAs 2021: Best New Artist, Song of the Year, Breakthrough Performance (with the song Drivers License). The song is Rodrigo's debut single, revolving around the love story of a girl who just passed her driver's license exam and immediately drove to her ex-lover's house.
